Young@Heart Dementia Choir celebrate St Patrick’s Day 2025 at Luton Point

The Young@Heart Dementia Choir opened the programme at Luton Point as guests of Luton Irish Forum who hosted the 26th annual St Patrick’s Festival on Monday 17 March 2025.

Our song programme included:

  • the Doris Day classic ‘Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)’

  • the 1920s Music Hall hit ‘If You’re Irish (Come Into The Parlour)’, popularised by Ruby Murray in the 50s.

  • John Denver’s perennial favourite ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’ (now beloved by Manchester United fans)

and many others.

We finished with ‘Dance the Night Away’ by the Mavericks

Some of our volunteers danced The Slosh line dance.

This was a warm-up for the crowd dance later in the day when the crowd in St George’s Square also danced to Declan Nerney and His Band. Here’s a short video of the event:
